Contrast

Body text and interactive elements such as buttons and links should have sufficient contrast against the background so the content is easy to read. Links should also be recognisable as links without relying on colour alone.

Content for screen readers

All content is prepared so that people using assistive technologies such as screen readers can use the site. This includes alternative texts for images and descriptive texts for controls such as buttons and links.

Keyboard operation

The site is built so that people who cannot use a mouse can operate the website with the keyboard. This includes focus states in a logical content order, visible focus indicators and a skip-to-content button to bypass the main menu.
