10 questions to

Digital Analytics

1. Since when have you been part of the team?

I’ve been part of the team since January 2025. My first encounters with netzstrategen were shaped by a sense of internationality and openness. From the very beginning, I was particularly impressed by the Alte Schlachthof and how netzstrategen became involved there. The creative vibe and the unique atmosphere that has been created here immediately captivated me.

2. What do you like most about netzstrategen?

The team spirit, the flexibility, and the wealth of experience from my colleagues and the organization itself.

3. What is your daily business and in which field are you specialised?

I’m the in-house developer for the Digital Analytics team. As a Data Engineer, I build and maintain data pipelines, develop applications based on that data, and manage the necessary infrastructure – all while ensuring data protection compliance.

4. What impresses you the most in your field?

Data is incredibly diverse and exists for almost everything in the world (and beyond). I enjoy processing, structuring, and analyzing data, and then using it as input for a wide variety of applications. Every new data source is like a treasure chest. The value of its contents might not be immediately clear – sometimes only in combination with other treasure chests – but when you take the time to explore it thoroughly, you can usually build something great from it.

5. How would you explain your job to your mum?

When I once told my cousin about my job and the projects I work on, she said, “Ah, so you’re like a spy!” And that might actually be a good description – I shed light on the unknown. I make information accessible that wasn’t available before. It’s no coincidence that both the data industry and the intelligence community share the term “intelligence”.

6. Any tip concerning your field you’d like to give away?

Excel is not a database – especially not for applications built on top of it.
